Legendary Fuji maestro Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as KWAM 1 or K1 De Ultimate, has shared a heartfelt revelation about his late mother’s influence on his illustrious career.

The music icon disclosed that his mother, Princess Halima Anifowoshe, harbored dreams of becoming a musician herself but instead became the driving force behind his own musical journey.

K1 revealed that his mother not only taught him the fundamentals of music but also played a pivotal role as his composer, shaping his artistic path.

During a recent podcast discussing his latest album, Ganusi The Album Fuji Classical, the superstar explained how his mother’s unfulfilled musical aspirations inspired him to dedicate the emotional track “Mama” to her memory.

He recounted how her royal lineage and societal expectations as a woman prevented her from pursuing music, leading her to channel her passion into nurturing his talent.

“The song ‘Mama’ honors my mother, who instilled in me the essence of music,” K1 shared. “As a young princess, she dreamed of singing, but tradition confined her. Yet, destiny worked through her—she became my teacher, my composer, and the foundation of my artistry. This tribute is my eternal gratitude.”

Princess Halima Anifowoshe passed away in January 2025, leaving behind a legacy that continues to resonate through her son’s timeless music.
