A tragic incident unfolded as Lawal Tukur, an Assistant Superintendent of Customs (ASC), was discovered deceased in a Katsina hotel after reportedly checking in with three women.

The officer, whose sudden death has sparked investigations, was found unresponsive in his room at Murjani Hotel in Katsina, according to sources.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed that hotel staff made the grim discovery around 8:30 a.m. on October 15th, following an overnight stay with two of the women.

Authorities recovered empty sachets of suspected illicit substances from the room, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding his demise.

Three women—Khadija Ali, Aisha Lawal, and Hafsat Yusuf—were present at the location during the incident. While two had spent the night with the officer, the third arrived later and occupied the same hotel.

Medical personnel at Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Katsina confirmed Tukur’s death, with his remains placed in the mortuary for an autopsy to establish the exact cause.

The Nigeria Customs Service has launched an inquiry into the matter, as officials await further forensic findings to shed light on the unfortunate event.
