Renowned Nollywood icon Bob-Manuel Udokwu has addressed the disturbing fake news about his demise that recently surfaced online.
He shared that his children were the first to alert him about the fabricated reports.
During an episode of the With Chude Podcast, Udokwu recounted how the false claims were accompanied by a digitally altered image, merging his face with another individual’s body on what appeared to be a hospital bed.
The misleading post falsely declared his passing.
He revealed that the perpetrators had manipulated his past photos, superimposing them onto unrelated images to create a fabricated scene.
While Udokwu admitted feeling upset by the episode, he mentioned that his grown-up children urged him against pursuing legal action, arguing that ignoring the rumor would be the wiser approach.
He stated: “My kids actually spotted the bogus reports before I did, and immediately brought it to my attention.
“The image was manipulated – my picture was cropped and placed on a completely different person’s body in a hospital setting.
“My daughter and other children strongly advised against reporting to law enforcement agencies, suggesting it wasn’t worth the trouble.”
