Popular Nigerian comedian and content creator, Raji Adetola, widely known as Sanku, has tragically passed away.

 

The heartbreaking news follows a fatal car crash on Ogbomoso Road in Oyo State, where he lost his life.

 

The devastating incident took place in the early morning of Monday, September 1, 2025, leaving multiple victims injured.

 

Disturbing images circulating online reveal the wrecked vehicle submerged in mud, with Sanku and his passenger lying lifeless nearby.

Despite being rushed to the hospital alongside his companion, Sanku succumbed to his injuries. His friend’s condition remains uncertain, with sources indicating severe trauma.

 

Nollywood star Funmi Awelewa shared her grief, revealing she had initially received hopeful updates before the tragic outcome.

 

“When rumors surfaced, I immediately reached out to a connection near Bowen Hospital. They confirmed you were fighting for life. We prayed fervently… but God’s will prevailed,” she mourned in an emotional Instagram post. 

 

Industry peers like Ozain Comedy and Jidex poured out tributes across social media, honoring Sanku’s legacy.

 

Launching his skit career in 2021, Sanku skyrocketed to fame in 2024, captivating millions with his humor and amassing a massive TikTok following.
