A trending clip features renowned chef Hilda Baci deep-cleaning the enormous pot she’ll use for her Guinness World Record-breaking jollof rice attempt at Lagos’ Eko Hotel and Suites.
The culinary star updated fans via Instagram this Friday with some behind-the-scenes action.
“It’s official—this pot is spotless! I got my hands dirty (well, clean actually) and handled the scrubbing personally,” she quipped, giving a shoutout to the cleaning product brand.
She teased that the freshly sanitized vessel would soon prepare “enough historic Nigerian Jollof to feed an army of food lovers.”
The accompanying footage captured the amusing sight of Baci climbing inside the massive custom-built pot to ensure every inch was pristine.
“Yes, I’m literally in the pot—bet you didn’t see that coming!” she laughed in the video.
Detailing her process, Baci explained: “This is serious prep work. After the initial wash and rinse, I’m doing a final mop-down with fresh sticks before we start cooking up greatness.”
The chef initially shot to fame in May 2023 when she smashed the Guinness World Record with an epic 100-hour nonstop cooking session in Lagos.
