Fresh revelations have surfaced regarding the untimely demise of Nigerian vocalist Ifunanya Nwangene, who allegedly succumbed to a cobra bite in her Abuja residence.

Ifunanya, affectionately called Nanya_music or the Soprano Queen, was a celebrated choir member in Abuja before her tragic passing on January 31 due to the snakebite.

Renowned online physician Aproko Doctor disputed claims that the snakebite directly caused her death, attributing it instead to systemic failures in emergency healthcare.

In a viral video, Aproko Doctor disclosed that Ifunanya sought anti-venom treatment at two separate hospitals but was denied due to unavailability of the life-saving serum.

“You’ve likely heard about the young woman who died from a snakebite—a heartbreaking story. But what if I told you the snake didn’t kill her? Snakebites happen globally—in cities, villages, India, everywhere—yet victims don’t typically die because hospitals lack anti-venom. Not in 2026. Not when Nigeria has a specialized anti-venom called Echitab.”

He emphasized that Nigeria’s Echitab anti-venom, designed specifically for local snake species, should have been readily accessible.

“Why wasn’t it stocked in those hospitals? Because we’ve neglected essentials. Politicians prioritize ribbon-cutting ceremonies for ‘ultra-modern’ hospitals while neglecting primary healthcare centers—the backbone of any functional healthcare system. Instead of saving lives, they chase optics for the next election.”
