Actress Georgina Onuoha has publicly criticized Senator Ned Nwoko for his recent claims alleging drug abuse by his wife, Regina Daniels.
The controversy erupted following a viral video in which Regina detailed the alleged domestic abuse she has faced since her marriage to the senator. Hours later, Ned accused her of substance misuse.
In a social media post dated October 20, Georgina addressed the timeline of Regina’s relationship with Ned, highlighting that he began courting her at 16, married her at 18, and they welcomed a child soon after.
Georgina questioned how Regina, who was described as “young and naive” when she entered the marriage, could be labeled as a drug abuser. She emphasized that Regina’s youth and innocence were entrusted to Ned, who was expected to guide and protect her.
“This man publicly declared that his 25-year-old wife, whom he pursued as a teenager and married at 18, is involved in drug abuse. Are we really condoning this narrative simply because he holds power? Does power equate to truth in our society?”
“Let me be clear—I’m not defending Regina blindly. I see her as a young woman whose future was sacrificed to an older man for financial gain, orchestrated by a mother driven by greed. She is a victim of societal pressures.”
“That said, if she engages in activities like shisha, she’s merely acting her age under the protection of a man who promised to care for her. Senator Ned, when did the girl you married as a teenager turn into a drug dealer? She was pure, young, and naive when she entered your life. When exactly did this transformation occur?”
“She was supposed to be nurtured and supported. Instead, you’ve labeled her a criminal. When did this happen?”
Georgina further chastised the senator for allegedly failing to address the drug-related behaviors of Regina and her brother while they lived under his roof. She urged Ned to step aside to allow an impartial investigation into the domestic abuse claims against him, as well as his accusations against Regina and her sibling.
