France manager Didier Deschamps has backed Ousmane Dembélé to claim this year’s Ballon d’Or.
His comments came ahead of their UEFA Nations League semi-final against Spain, where rising star Lamine Yamal is also in contention for the prestigious award.
Dembélé recently lifted the Champions League trophy with Paris Saint-Germain and was later crowned the club’s player of the season.
PSG secured a historic Treble this season, adding the Ligue 1 title and Coupe de France to their European triumph.
“Certainly, the Nations League could influence the decision, as could the Club World Cup. If I had to pick, I’d say Ous, without a doubt, 100%.
“If you ask the Spanish players, they’d probably have a different answer.
“But Ousmane, given his incredible season, fully deserves it,” Deschamps stated during the press conference.
