Harrysong

Popular Nigerian artist Harrysong has refuted the allegations made by his former wife, Alexer Peres, regarding visitation rights to their children.

Previously, Amonpoint News revealed that Alexer had publicly declared her intention to temporarily distance herself from their two children.

She shared this emotional announcement via an Instagram story, where she opened up about her struggles.

In the heartfelt video, Alexer described the decision as agonizing, emphasizing that it resulted from prolonged emotional strain following their divorce.

She explained that she has been the primary caregiver since their split, with the children residing with her, attending school under her supervision, and having limited interactions with their father.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, Harrysong responded by stating that his silence was deliberate to safeguard his children and their mother, as online statements are indelible.

The singer admitted to previously reacting emotionally on social media but stated he has since learned from the experience.

He stressed his active role as a father, providing financial support even while the children were in Alexer’s custody.

He said, “I’ve remained silent to shield my children and their mother from unnecessary scrutiny—words on the internet never fade.

“In the past, I spoke out of emotion and paid the price. At no point did I deny her access to them.

“The custody arrangement was made for reasons not meant for public consumption. I’ve been present in their lives and ensured their needs are met, even during her care.

“The current online portrayal is deeply distressing and threatens the livelihood that sustains our kids. Is this fair? I refuse to engage in public disputes that may one day hurt them. My priority is their happiness.”
