Pep Guardiola has announced his exit from Manchester City, citing exhaustion similar to Jurgen Klopp’s reasons for leaving Liverpool.
The announcement follows Klopp’s departure earlier this summer, marking the end of an era for two of football’s most influential managers.
“I relate to what Klopp said—my energy reserves are drained,” Guardiola admitted during a press conference. “The demands of this role are immense, and I no longer feel I can sustain it.”
Reflecting on his tenure, he added, “A decade in football feels like a lifetime—relentless matches, title races, and daily pressures. It’s time for change.”
He emphasized the need for fresh leadership, stating, “The team deserves a new vision, a different voice. It’s time to turn the page and let someone else write the next chapter.”
