Renowned Nigerian gospel singer and pastor Nathaniel Bassey recently shared a jaw-dropping encounter he had with an alleged occult practitioner who attempted to spiritually manipulate him.
During an electrifying worship session, the “Onise Iyanu” crooner revealed this was actually the second time the same individual confronted him with alleged mystical intentions.
The tense moment occurred on a busy expressway when the man suddenly approached Bassey’s vehicle and began performing what the pastor described as occult rituals, apparently trying to exert supernatural control.
“I simply remained calm and found the situation amusing,” the gospel minister recalled, adding that he countered the situation by invoking divine promises from Scripture.
He referenced powerful biblical declarations including Psalm 105:15 – “Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm” – as spiritual armor against the alleged attack.
Bassey described how the perplexed practitioner lingered nearby, seemingly expecting his incantations to take immediate effect.
Citing Numbers 23:23, the clergyman declared: “No witchcraft can prevail against God’s chosen” as he took authority over the situation.
The worship leader eventually exited his vehicle, commanding the man to leave immediately with forceful authority.
In retrospect, Bassey admitted wishing he had detained the individual for law enforcement intervention.
Emphasizing that his testimony wasn’t meant to sensationalize darkness but to demonstrate spiritual realities, he stated: “While we don’t dwell on demonic matters, we must recognize the existence of spiritual wickedness.”
His vivid account continued: “This same individual had approached me before with similar intentions. On the expressway, he began chanting incantations, attempting to manipulate me spiritually. But I stood firm on God’s word.”
