Renowned Nollywood star Funke Akindele has opened up about the immense dedication and personal sacrifices that fueled her rise to stardom.
During a candid interview, Akindele recounted the years of relentless focus she invested in shaping her career, often at the expense of life’s pleasures.
She described withdrawing from social life entirely, spending three solitary years in Amen Estate developing what would become her most celebrated projects.
The award-winning actress and producer, now 48, admitted skipping vacations, celebrations, and even family gatherings during this intense creative period.
“True success demands complete devotion,” Akindele emphasized. “I willingly gave up what others chase after – the parties, the glamour, the leisure – to build something lasting. For three full years, my world was confined to Amen Estate as I crafted the Jenifa franchise, Industreet, Aiyetoro Town, and our family series.”
