Damola, a close associate of late singer Mohbad, has countered allegations made by the artist’s father, Joseph Aloba, regarding the nature of Mohbad and Wunmi’s marriage ceremony.
As previously reported by Amonpoint News, a viral clip showed Mr Aloba stating that the couple only conducted a wedding introduction, not a full traditional wedding.
In the controversial footage, Aloba claimed he was unexpectedly involved in the introduction ceremony, arriving to find himself handed ceremonial attire without prior notice. He emphasized that, according to their cultural practices, a proper traditional wedding requires the presence of the family head—an element he says was missing.
The grieving father further asserted that while Mohbad had promised to formalize the marriage after Wunmi’s delivery, these plans allegedly changed when the singer supposedly discovered Wunmi’s infidelity. This allegation forms the basis of Aloba’s persistent demand for DNA testing of Mohbad’s son, Liam.
In response, Damola has shared multiple video clips that appear to contradict these claims. The footage shows what seems to be a traditional wedding celebration, including scenes of Damola and others participating as groomsmen, complete with customary money-spraying rituals.
