Nigerian rapper and actor Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has sparked fresh debate after doubling down on his controversial claim that premarital sex isn’t sinful.

The entertainer set social media ablaze when he boldly declared on X (formerly Twitter) that fornication shouldn’t be considered immoral.

His statement triggered fierce backlash from religious followers, with Christians and Muslims flooding his post with scriptural references condemning his stance.

In a candid interview with Arise TV, Falz stood by his words, revealing he now follows a personal belief system centered on love rather than traditional faiths.

The “This is Nigeria” star made it clear he has distanced himself from Christianity, stating: “People misunderstood my tweet—I wasn’t speaking from a Christian viewpoint. My religion is love, and in that context, consensual intimacy between unmarried adults isn’t wrong.”

“I’ve examined this carefully,” he continued. “Why should society police what consenting, unmarried individuals do privately? Who exactly gets hurt? If two people willingly choose to be intimate, where’s the crime?”

“Let me be clear—I don’t identify as Christian anymore. My faith is rooted in love, compassion, and personal freedom.”
