Ex-Super Eagles forward John Utaka has shared his thoughts on Ahmed Musa’s sudden departure from the national team’s camp, allegedly for his latest marital union.
Musa exited the squad’s base following Nigeria’s 2-1 triumph over Ghana in the Unity Cup held in London.
Football enthusiasts across Nigeria expressed surprise upon learning that the experienced attacker had flown back home for his nuptials with Asmau Moriki, his fourth partner, in Kano.
During an interview with Brila FM, Utaka addressed the situation, emphasizing the importance of proper procedures in national team affairs.
“Nobody knows what agreements were made before Musa joined the camp. Representing your country requires following the right protocols,” Utaka remarked.
Musa’s appearance against Ghana marked his return for Nigeria since the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, entering as a substitute during the second half of the thrilling victory.
This latest marriage makes Moriki Musa’s fourth known wife.
His first marital union was with Jamila in 2013. They had two children together before parting ways in 2017, reportedly due disagreements over his intention of taking another wife.
Soon after, he wedded Juliet Ejue from Ogoja in Cross River State as his second spouse, though this marriage also eventually dissolved without clear public details.
In 2021, he entered into his third marriage with Mariam.
