Former BBNaija housemate Angel Smith has shut down rumors suggesting her breakup with ex-boyfriend Soma influenced her sexuality, following her recent same-sex marriage.
The reality TV star tied the knot with her partner, Tumininu, in a private ceremony held in the U.S., sparking speculation that her past failed relationship drove her to explore her sexuality.
Angel swiftly dismissed these assumptions, clarifying on X (formerly Twitter) that she has proudly identified as pansexual since before her BBNaija debut.
She tweeted: “The idea that people can’t grasp how a pansexual woman can love both men and women is baffling.”
In another post, she added: “I’ve been openly queer before and after the show. Attributing my identity to a man? Please—he could never elevate me to this level of iconic. Thank u, next.”
Angel also called out the hypocrisy of Nigerian men who stigmatize LGBTQ+ relationships but indulge in group encounters with their partners.
“Nigerian men crack me up—homophobic until they’re begging for threesomes. The irony is unreal,” she wrote.
To further prove her point, she resurfaced old tweets from 2021 where she openly discussed her queer identity.
