Nigerian football icon Jay-Jay Okocha has shared his thoughts on Victor Osimhen’s career path.
This comes after Osimhen’s impressive loan stint with Galatasaray.
In an interview with Turkish outlet TRT Spor via Haberler, the ex-Fenerbahçe star advised Osimhen to remain in Turkey with Galatasaray, even if it requires personal compromises.
“Turkey offers an excellent environment for football and life,” Okocha remarked.
“Football decisions sometimes demand sacrifices. Osimhen thrived at Galatasaray this season. He’s clearly content there—why leave? I adore Turkey, and so does he.”
When questioned about Osimhen’s potential next move, Okocha responded, “I’m not certain,” he stated.
“Whatever he chooses, I support him fully.”
Okocha, who starred for Fenerbahçe from 1996 to 1998, reminisced about his Turkish experience, describing it as “two fantastic years” and praising the supporters and food. He ended with a tribute to his former club, declaring, “Fener is the best.”
Osimhen, wrapping up his Napoli loan, netted his 37th goal of the season in Galatasaray’s 2–0 victory over İstanbul Başakşehir on Saturday, capping a stellar year with both the Turkish Cup and Süper Lig title.
He also claimed Player of the Season honors and the Süper Lig Golden Boot.
