Darkoo

British-Nigerian artist Darkoo boldly declares that women are the driving force behind viral hits and emerging music trends worldwide.

The chart-topping Favourite Girl creator highlights how female listeners frequently set trends, noting that men often adopt songs after women embrace them first.

During a lively discussion on the Comfortably Speaking podcast, Darkoo pointed to Amapiano’s explosive growth as proof, explaining how women pioneered the genre by creating viral dance challenges online.

“Let’s keep it real – women run the music industry,”
she proclaimed. “Think about it – when you’re cruising in your Lambo trying to impress a lady, you’re blasting Sexyy Red, not underground trap. Why? Because vibes matter.”

“Most guys discover fire tracks through women first,” she continued. Amapiano proves my point – women were getting lit to those beats on social media while guys were still sleeping on it. Now? Every dude acts like he invented the genre.”

The rising star emphasized this cultural shift, noting “At first people mocked those Amapiano dance videos, but today? Suddenly everyone’s a superfan.”
