Popular Nigerian musician and outspoken activist, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has opened up about his anguish over Nigeria’s worsening socio-political climate.
In a candid revelation, the multi-talented artist admitted that the deepening ethnic and religious divisions in the nation weigh heavily on his mind.
Falz shared these thoughts while responding to a viral post by fellow entertainer Nasboi, who challenged Nigerians to rise above tribalism and religious biases to demand accountability from their leaders.
“We’ve become dangerously silent as a nation. Remembering absurdities like ‘snakes swallowing public funds’ shows how brazen corruption has grown. Our leaders amass wealth they can’t possibly spend, while keeping citizens divided. It’s time to prioritize Nigeria over primitive loyalties,” Nasboi’s tweet read.
Agreeing emphatically, Falz emphasized the urgent need for citizens to reject divisive narratives and think critically about national issues.
“The deliberate manipulation of ethnic and religious fault lines to distract Nigerians is soul-crushing. We must wake up and see through these tactics that only benefit the political class,” the rapper and actor responded.
His remarks followed a recent wave of heated online clashes between young Christians and Muslims, sparked by international debates about Nigeria’s security challenges.
