Former Chelsea academy standout Lamisha Musonda has bravely opened up about his terminal health struggles, admitting his condition has deteriorated to a critical stage.

In a deeply moving Instagram post, the ex-footballer shared his heartbreaking reality—after two grueling years fighting an undisclosed illness, he now faces the possibility of having mere days remaining.

Musonda, who rose through Anderlecht’s youth ranks before joining Chelsea in 2012, penned: ‘Coming to terms with my limited time left, I reflect on the incredible support I’ve received and the unforgettable moments I’ll carry forever. Life’s journey is unpredictable, but its beauty remains.’

‘No one truly understands another’s pain. These past years have tested me beyond measure,’ he continued.

‘With heavy heart, I must share that my health continues to decline despite every effort. I’ve been absent from social media while fighting this battle privately.’

‘My condition has reached a critical point, and now I’m simply fighting to stay alive. Your prayers and support during this time would mean everything.’

‘My family and I remain resilient—I won’t surrender until my final breath. Though my life was blessed with early success and so much unfulfilled potential, I regret not being able to thank everyone personally. Know that I love you all. Lamisha.’

Musonda, whose brother Charles also graduated from Chelsea’s academy and briefly featured for the first team, retired from professional football in 2019 at just 27.

During his career, the midfielder earned nine caps for Belgium’s U21 national team while playing for clubs including Mechelen, Liagostera B, Palamos, and DR Congo’s TP Mazembe.
