Ex-Chelsea star Frank Leboeuf has voiced his disappointment regarding Lionel Messi’s previous remarks about Paris Saint-Germain during his time at Inter Miami.
Messi previously played for Paris Saint-Germain before his move to Inter Miami.
The Argentine forward recently acknowledged that his stint at PSG was challenging, stating he found it tough to adjust to life at the French champions.
Addressing the issue ahead of PSG’s FIFA Club World Cup clash with Inter Miami, Leboeuf commented on ESPN’s YouTube channel: “I wasn’t pleased with his [Messi’s] remarks about not enjoying Paris. It’s a magnificent city, and his comments were puzzling.”
“Fans were thrilled to have Messi, though he wasn’t the same player he was at Barcelona. Had he performed at that level, he might have stayed longer.”
Messi transferred to PSG from Barcelona in 2021 before joining Inter Miami as a free agent.
During his time in Paris, the 38-year-old netted 32 goals and registered 35 assists in 75 appearances across all competitions.
He secured three trophies with PSG, including two Ligue 1 titles, and shared the pitch with stars like Kylian Mbappé and Neymar.
