Nollywood actress Evan Okoro has vehemently denied shocking claims made by fellow actress Ekene Umenwa, who allegedly accused her of being HIV-positive.
The explosive allegation surfaced after Evan’s name appeared on a leaked list of actors supposedly targeted by Ekene in private conversations with UK-based nurse Adanma Waller.
In an emotional Instagram video, Evan confronted the rumors, demanding clarification from Ekene while threatening divine retribution if the claims proved false.
She passionately stated: “I just saw something disturbing online. My name is on some list claiming I’m carrying a serious health condition people are afraid to discuss.
“Ekene Umenwa, did you really include me in your gossip? Is this truly what you said, or are evil people using you to tarnish my reputation? I actually defended you initially, saying we should hear your side first. But seeing my name linked to HIV rumors…
“Ekene, if you actually spread this lie, may God punish you and your entire family – your parents, your husband, everyone. But if you’re innocent, may those fabricating these lies face divine justice, because right now my mother is devastated,” Evan tearfully declared.
The scandal emerges amidst another controversy involving Ekene, who was recently called out by actress Destiny Etiko for allegedly claiming she abused her own mother.
