Former Arsenal standout Paul Merson has voiced his belief that the Gunners will prevail over Manchester City in the race for Premier League glory this season.
Merson suggested Mikel Arteta’s men could afford minor slip-ups in their final stretch while still sealing their first league title in two decades.
With fixtures against West Ham, Burnley, and Crystal Palace ahead, Arsenal’s path appears favorable despite mounting pressure.
“Manchester City narrowly escaped disaster thanks to Jeremy Doku’s stoppage-time strike against Everton,” Merson noted in his Sportskeeda analysis.
“Arsenal have the upper hand, and they might not even need maximum points from every remaining match.”
Despite Manchester City’s extra game in hand, Arsenal currently hold a narrow but decisive five-point lead at the summit.
The title contenders face contrasting weekend challenges—Arsenal visit West Ham, while City host Brentford in a pivotal round of fixtures.
