Gerrard, a Liverpool icon, believes Kane’s dominance in front of goal and trophy-winning potential make him a prime candidate for football’s most prestigious individual honor.
In an exclusive chat with TNT Sports, Gerrard emphasized how silverware and international success could cement Kane’s claim.
“Goals change games, and trophies define legacies,” Gerrard stated. “If Kane lifts another major title this season, he’ll have one hand on the Ballon d’Or.”
The former Aston Villa boss added, “A standout Euros with England—where he delivers goals and propels the team deep into the tournament—would further strengthen his case.”
“As an Englishman and a fan of the game, I’d love to see him rewarded for his consistency and dedication. He’s earned it.”
Kane faces stiff competition for the 2026 Ballon d’Or, with rising stars like Lamine Yamal and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, as well as established talents such as Ousmane Dembélé and Declan Rice, also in contention.
