The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, has voiced his disappointment over the silence of industry colleagues regarding the ongoing marital issues between actress Regina Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
In a candid Instagram post, Rollas revealed that many in Nollywood are aware of Regina’s concerning health situation yet prefer to gossip rather than offer genuine support.
He recalled an event where renowned actors such as Okey Bakassi, Chinyere Wilfred, and Jide Kosoko witnessed Regina’s behavior on set and recognized she required professional assistance.
The AGN leader also highlighted that Senator Nwoko had previously raised Regina’s health issues publicly at their son’s birthday celebration.
Rollas further criticized Regina’s mother, Rita Daniels, for prioritizing her political aspirations within AGN over her daughter’s well-being.
Denying claims of financial backing from Nwoko, he admonished the senator for airing private family matters in public.
The statement reads, “Fellow actors, stakeholders, and Nigerians, as my tenure nears its end, I must address misinformation and baseless allegations. Truth and accountability matter.
1. *Regina Daniels & Ned Nwoko* Ned Nwoko is AGN’s *Board of Patrons Chairman*, while Regina is a guild member. Their private strife became public, yet I remained silent out of respect. Now, as my name is exploited, I must clarify facts.
2. *Industry’s Silence & Hypocrisy* The *Board of Trustees* watches from the sidelines while I defend the guild. Senior colleagues—*Okey Bakassi, Charles Inojie, Chinyere Wilfred*—you saw Regina’s struggles firsthand. Why stay silent now?
3. *The South Africa Condition* Nwoko insisted Regina avoid Lagos for the South Africa trip. This detail, now distorted, confirms his interference in guild matters.
4. *The Birthday Incident* At their son’s party, Nwoko publicly scolded Regina for smoking, saying she’d bear a daughter only if she quit—proof of deeper issues.
My goal isn’t to humiliate Regina but to urge her to seek help. The guild has supported other members; she deserves the same.
5. *To Rita Daniels* If your daughter is suffering, why chase AGN presidency? Leadership shouldn’t excuse negligence.
6. *To Ned Nwoko* Publicly shaming your wife is unworthy of your status. Also, clarify that the ₦200M was for Regina’s film, not AGN—your silence fuels false narratives.
I speak now because integrity demands it. If others stay quiet for personal gain, I refuse to let lies define my legacy.”
