Media magnate Dele Momodu has revealed ongoing mediation efforts between Afrobeat superstar Davido and Sophia Momodu concerning the custody of their daughter, Imade.
Momodu, who shares familial ties with Sophia as her uncle, shared this update via his Instagram page, explaining his current engagement while in Liberia.
He recounted how Liberians revere Davido as a music icon and mentioned an encounter with a local designer, Lorine Doe, who urged him to intervene in the highly publicized dispute.
“In Liberia, Davido is celebrated like royalty. My current trip, initially to console former Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor after her son’s passing, took an unexpected turn turn as fans begged me to reconcile the estranged parents.
“One admirer, @lorine.doe, pleaded, ‘Please help settle this for them.’ Rest assured, we’” Momodu reassured, “we’re discreetly facilitating discussions. Keep them in your prayers.’’
The custody battle, initially filed by Davido seeking shared custody, was withdrawn after Sophia’s legal team cited safety concerns following the tragic loss of Davido’s son, Ifeanyi
