Renowned Nigerian gospel artist Ebuka Hillary, popularly known as Ebuka Songs, has publicly expressed remorse to the Christian community.

The apology comes after a widely circulated livestream featuring TikTok personality Habeeb Hamzat, aka Peller, which took place in July.

The viral session, hosted at Ebuka’s home, included moments of worship, prayer, and an instance where Peller spoke in tongues—sparking mixed reactions.

Several members of Nigeria’s Christian faithful voiced disapproval, deeming the livestream unsuitable for public consumption.

In response, Ebuka Songs shared a heartfelt video on Instagram, extending apologies for both the livestream and his initial defensive remarks.

His statement read: “I’d like to address the recent controversy surrounding the livestream with Peller at my residence. Certain moments unfolded that weren’t properly contextualized in the moment. To anyone who felt offended, I sincerely apologize—both for the content and my subsequent reaction.

“That wasn’t my intent. I’ve always remained silent amidst criticism, but this time, I responded in a manner inconsistent with God’s character. For that, I ask forgiveness. We are all works in progress, growing daily in divine wisdom.”
