Eben

Renowned gospel artist Eben recently disclosed that a church canceled his performance after raising concerns about his attire on an album cover, where he wore ripped denim jeans.

During a candid podcast discussion, Eben recounted the unexpected backlash, revealing that all event preparations had been finalized beforehand.

He noted that while the jeans were not revealing, the church’s leadership deemed them unfit for a gospel performer.

Their reasoning? The outfit allegedly didn’t align with the image expected of a Christian minister.

Eben shared, “Everything was set—travel, logistics, everything. Then they saw my album cover featuring distressed denim, and suddenly the invite was revoked.”

“The event coordinator contacted me, visibly distraught, explaining that the church committee disapproved of my choice of clothing. Their exact words? ‘This isn’t befitting for a man of God,’” he added.

With over two decades in ministry, the singer reflected on how external judgment often overshadows the essence of faith and music.

Eben emphasized his commitment to authenticity, refusing to compromise his identity for public approval.

He attributed his journey’s milestones to divine favor rather than personal accolades.

Despite the setback, Eben remains gracious, viewing the incident as a lesson in humility and self-awareness.

He encouraged congregations to prioritize heartfelt worship over superficial standards, reminding them that ministry transcends attire and rests on spiritual impact.
