A$AP Rocky recently shared the unexpected story of his first meeting with Rihanna, and it’s far from the fairytale moment fans might imagine.
During an appearance on *The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon*, the 37-year-old artist peeled back the curtain on their initial encounter—one that took place outside a dimly lit New York nightclub before his rise to fame.
Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, reminisced about arguing with bouncers alongside his late friend Virgil Abloh and designer Matthew Williams when Rihanna unexpectedly stepped out of the venue. The two locked eyes instantly, but the rapper admitted feeling mortified that their first interaction happened amid a confrontation with security.
When Fallon quipped whether Rihanna came to his rescue, Rocky clarified with a laugh: *She definitely didn’t get me in.*
Despite the rocky start, their connection eventually blossomed. The couple, who began dating publicly in 2020, now share a growing family with three children.
The rapper’s interview also served as a platform to discuss his long-awaited album, *Don’t Be Dumb*, marking his first full-length release in nearly a decade.
