Frank Onyeka, Nigeria’s midfield dynamo, has publicly voiced his support for Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle, urging the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) to extend his stay.
The Brentford star lauded Chelle’s tactical insight and leadership qualities, emphasizing the strong bond the coach has built with the squad.
With Chelle’s contract running through January 2027, the Mali-born tactician remains a pivotal figure in Nigeria’s football ambitions after the NFF secured his commitment midway through his initial two-year tenure.
“From day one, Coach Chelle’s impact was undeniable,” Onyeka shared in an exclusive chat with sports journalist Oma Akatugba. “His approach to the game is clear, and he connects with players on a personal level.”
“He fosters trust and fairness—qualities that resonate deeply with the team. Many of us in the squad hold him in high regard.
“The NFF should prioritize keeping him.”
