With Nigeria’s booming population exceeding 200 million, DJ Neptune believes African artists have the power to revolutionize the music industry by creating their own streaming platforms.

Renowned Nigerian DJ and music producer Imohiosen Patrick, popularly known as DJ Neptune, has urged African artists to unite and establish their own digital streaming services.

The award-winning disc jockey shared his vision during a recent interview on Channels Television’s Rubbin Minds, emphasizing the untapped potential within the continent.

He highlighted Nigeria’s massive population as a key advantage, stating that even a small percentage of engaged listeners could transform the careers of African creatives.

“African artists must take control of their distribution channels,” he said. “We have the numbers—imagine if just 5% of Nigeria’s 200 million people actively supported our music. That alone could sustain us indefinitely.”

“Unity is everything. When we collaborate and speak with one voice, we gain leverage in negotiations, ensuring better deals for creators.”

Reflecting on his journey, DJ Neptune expressed unwavering ambition: “I’m still as driven as day one. My mission is to be recognized worldwide as a pioneering DJ representing Africa—specifically Nigeria—on the global stage.”
