Nollywood star and producer Bimbo Ademoye has celebrated a hard-fought victory in a copyright battle concerning her YouTube production Where Love Lives, marking the end of a challenging legal tussle.
Taking to Instagram, the actress poured out her emotions, acknowledging her mother, close allies, and most notably her dedicated fanbase for rallying behind her to combat the unauthorized use of her work.
Her post read: “God’s favor is undeniable—He’s shown up yet again! Eternal gratitude to my backbone, @uduakisong1, for fighting tirelessly. Mom, you’re my forever hero.
“@ugoccie and your incredible team, thank you for standing firm. @sir.fela, your legal expertise was priceless.
“To my phenomenal online supporters—wow! You relentlessly flagged Emmanuel Davies until justice prevailed. Pure joy is an understatement! Cross me, and my digital army rises. Infinite love to you all.”
Amonpoint News reveals the conflict originated when an imposter operating as “Emmanuel Davies” fraudulently asserted ownership of a soundtrack from the film.
Despite Ademoye holding legitimate rights to the music—approved by the original artist—the track was illicitly registered under Davies’ name across streaming services, triggering an unjust copyright claim against her YouTube upload. Her 2025 romantic drama, featuring Uzor Arukwe, Chioma Nwosu, and Osas Ighodaro, had garnered massive traction before revenue was abruptly halted due to the false allegation.
The actress initially broke down publicly, pledging fierce legal retaliation and demanding rectification. She described the experience as emotionally crippling, admitting it disrupted her ability to interact with fans normally.
“If I seemed distant recently, forgive me—Emmanuel Davies tested my spirit. Special thanks to all who offered solace; missed calls weren’t personal. Even greetings triggered tears yesterday, but your love carried me through,” she concluded.
