An insider close to Sean “Diddy” Combs has revealed a harrowing encounter the music mogul faced while incarcerated at MDC Brooklyn, where he is currently detained.
Charlucci Finney, a trusted associate, disclosed that Diddy was abruptly awakened one night by an assailant holding a knife to his throat—an alarming situation that nearly turned fatal. Finney shared with Daily Mail that it remains unclear whether correctional officers intervened or if Diddy fought back, but emphasized the severity of the threat.
Additional sources corroborated the incident to TMZ, labeling it a deliberate act of intimidation. Finney speculated that the attack was meant to instill fear, noting that inmates convicted of sex-related offenses often face heightened risks behind bars.
During Diddy’s court proceedings, his attorney, Brian Steel, referenced the same episode, confirming that a guard intervened just in time to prevent serious injury.
The hip-hop icon is serving a 50-month sentence after being found guilty on two counts of violating the Mann Act, which prohibits transporting individuals across state lines for illegal activities. He was, however, cleared of sex trafficking and racketeering allegations.

Prison consultant Sam Mangel, speaking on TMZ Live, suggested Diddy’s next facility may offer better security than MDC Brooklyn. Nevertheless, he cautioned that such incidents underscore the need for constant vigilance in prison environments.
