The ongoing conflict between entertainment titan Tyler Perry and actor Derek Dixon has intensified, moving from legal filings to a highly publicized televised interview.
Dixon, known for his role in Perry’s BET drama The Oval, spoke candidly with ABC News’ Linsey Davis, reiterating his accusations against the media mogul.
In an excerpt from the interview, Dixon described the first alleged encounter, stating it took place at Perry’s Atlanta estate in January 2020.
“I lay down in bed, and suddenly he joined me, placing his hands on my leg. I immediately sprang up,” Dixon recounted.
He emphasized that unless someone has endured a situation where their autonomy is violated, it’s difficult to grasp the terror and emotional turmoil involved.
Previously, Dixon filed a $260 million lawsuit against Perry and Tyler Perry Studios, alleging workplace harassment, sexual assault, and battery. He asserted that after being invited to Perry’s home, he consumed excessive alcohol, retired to a guest room, and awoke to the purported assault.
Perry’s representatives have dismissed all claims, labeling the lawsuit as fraudulent.
