Popular Nigerian humorist Deeone is gearing up for a historic comedy marathon, eyeing the Guinness World Record for the longest stand-up performance.
The laughter-filled endurance test will unfold at Pallazo Lagos in Opebi, Ikeja, spanning an incredible 40 hours from October 2-4, 2025.
News of Deeone’s ambitious challenge sparked a wave of enthusiasm across Nigeria’s entertainment scene, with celebrities rallying behind the comic.
Fellow funnyman Josh2funny declared him “the king of comedy,” while Afrobeat star Teddy A shouted, “Make history bro!” Nollywood’s Tonto Dikeh added her voice, posting, “Deeone, na you dey reign! We believe in you.”
True to his comedic brand, Deeone unveiled the event with a hilarious mock burial announcement, blending his trademark wit with this career-defining endeavor.
The current benchmark Deeone hopes to surpass was set by American comedian Benny Elbows, who clocked 40 hours, 16 minutes, and 48 seconds on April 25, 2025.
