Nigerian social media influencer VeryDarkMan has publicly refuted long-standing rumors that singer Davido played a significant role in his rise to fame or financially supported his NGO.

Reports from an online news outlet had previously suggested that Davido helped boost VeryDarkMan’s career after inviting him to Lagos in October 2023.

During that visit, VeryDarkMan shared an enthusiastic video praising Davido’s hospitality, showcasing the luxurious accommodations arranged for him and encouraging viewers not to underestimate his connections.

However, nearly three years later—and amid a highly publicized rift between the two—VeryDarkMan has dismissed these claims as exaggerated narratives crafted for entertainment.

He firmly denied ever benefiting financially from his association with Davido, clarifying that the singer did not fund his travel, hotel expenses, or donate to his NGO.

He acknowledged that public discussions often highlighted Davido’s alleged generosity toward him, but emphasized that these claims were never factual.

In a bold statement, VeryDarkMan revealed that he personally covered all expenses for his Lagos trip and challenged critics to verify with Davido whether he had ever received financial assistance.

He further stressed that while Davido had publicly expressed intentions to support his NGO, no contributions were ever made, despite the singer’s high-profile spending on luxury items.
