Afrobeats megastar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has boldly proclaimed his unparalleled impact on Nigeria’s music scene, claiming no other current artist boasts a more extensive catalog of chart-topping hits than him.

The DMW boss recently threw down the gauntlet in an online livestream, confidently offering a staggering $1 million bet to any fellow musician willing to compete in a hit-for-hit showdown.

Widely acknowledged as one of the industry’s most consistent hitmakers, Davido placed himself in the same league as Afrobeats heavyweights such as Wizkid, Burna Boy, Olamide, Tekno, and Runtown.

As of press time, none of his peers have stepped forward to accept his high-stakes challenge.

This brazen declaration mirrors a similar challenge issued by Burna Boy during the 2020 pandemic lockdown, though it ultimately fizzled out after he dismissed Reekado Banks—the only contender who responded—as an unworthy opponent.
