Afrobeats sensation Davido (David Adeleke) has declared his decision to exit the ongoing legal dispute concerning his daughter, Imade’s custody. The superstar voiced his frustration over the courtroom developments, alleging unfair treatment during the proceedings.

Taking to X in a late-night post, the music icon dismissed rumors that he sought exclusive custody, clarifying that his request was only for shared parental rights.

“My stance was always joint custody, not full custody. No winners or losers here—just Imade’s best interest. I don’t understand why some are celebrating. There’s nothing to cheer about,” Davido stated.

The Grammy-nominated artist revealed that he withdrew from the case after what he called an offensive remark referencing his late son, which he deemed beyond acceptable bounds.

“I chose to step away because of one line crossed—when my deceased son was brought up. That was the final straw—utterly disrespectful,” he wrote emotionally.

Asserting his dedication as a father, Davido emphasized that his actions stemmed from genuine care, adding that Imade would someday recognize his efforts.

“She’ll grow up knowing I stood up for her. For now, we focus forward. Peace and love!” his message concluded.

In a fiery Instagram story, he slammed the opposing legal representatives for what he considered unethical conduct during the hearing.

“I exposed their incompetence in court, schooled them on proper procedure—only for them to disrespect my family’s pain. May you never endure such heartbreak,” he fumed.

This outburst followed observations by lawyer Maruf Muhammed, who had earlier chronicled dramatic courtroom exchanges at the Lagos State High Court in Yaba.

“Davido’s patience snapped during cross-examination today! No matter your status, justice remains paramount,” Muhammed tweeted.

When pressed for details, netizens learned the session revolved around Imade’s custody—a topic sparking widespread discussion since her viral appearance with Davido after a recent competition victory.

The high-profile co-parenting conflict continues drawing public scrutiny, with many advocating for an amicable resolution prioritizing the child’s welfare.
