Afrobeats sensation Davido, born David Adeleke, has paid an emotional tribute to his late son, Ifeanyi, marking three years since his passing.
Taking to X, the heartbroken father penned: “Ifeanyi David Adedeji Adeleke… Forever in our hearts!”
Ifeanyi tragically drowned on October 31, 2022, in a swimming accident at the Adeleke’s Banana Island, Lagos home.
Authorities revealed that neither Davido nor the child’s mother, Chioma Rowland, were present when the incident occurred.
The Lagos Police Command’s autopsy confirmed drowning as the cause, leading to the questioning of eight household staff—with two under further investigation.
Public figures, including Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Bia, Meek Mill, and Victor Moses, rallied around the grieving parents, calling the loss “unimaginable.”
After stepping back from the spotlight, Davido made a powerful return with his chart-topping 2023 album “Timeless.”
The couple later welcomed twins in the U.S., bringing new light into their lives.
