The highly publicized custody battle between Afrobeat star Davido (David Adeleke) and Sophia Momodu, the mother of his first child, took an unexpected turn after the singer targeted gospel artist Tosin Bee in a fiery social media outburst.
This occurred shortly after Davido’s heated exchange in court over custody disagreements concerning his daughter, Imade Adeleke— a case that has captivated Nigerian media.
At Thursday’s Lagos State High Court hearing in Yaba, Davido reportedly lost his temper when Sophia’s legal counsel, Ebelechukwu Enedah, made what he perceived as insensitive remarks about the tragic passing of his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.
Taking to Instagram, Davido unleashed a tirade against the lawyer, stating: “@Belachukwu, I made a fool out of you in court. You couldn’t handle me schooling you on legal matters, and then you brought up my late son.
“Like I said before the judge, I pray you never endure the pain Chioma and I have suffered—yet you had the nerve to smirk.
“You’re cruel. The worst attorney I’ve ever seen. I shut you down in court. You’re incompetent.”
Moments later, Davido reshared a post from Tosin Bee’s page, wrongly associating the gospel musician with Enedah.
In his Instagram story, the singer lashed out: “And she has a son? Tosin, you’ll live long—but your music is trash, Bella Chukwu. You lack common sense. Let’s help this fool. Worthless people.”
The misplaced accusation sparked a flood of angry reactions, with fans flooding Tosin Bee’s social media accounts in retaliation.
Quick to diffuse tensions, Tosin Bee issued a public clarification, emphasizing his non-involvement in the matter: “David, I have no clue what this is about. My mother passed away years ago, and your post clearly has nothing to do with me.
“This must be a misunderstanding. I sympathize with your situation, brother. Much love and prayers.”
