Omije Ojumi

The firstborn child of the late gospel artist Omije Ojumi delivered a heartfelt eulogy, honoring her mother as a resilient and devoted woman who prioritized her children above all else, even amid marital struggles.

During the memorial service held on Wednesday, Jomiloju Ojumi recounted her mother’s steadfast commitment to their upbringing, emphasizing how she filled the gaps when their father was absent.

She shared that Ojumi was passionate about instilling discipline and responsibility in her children, ensuring they learned from what she perceived as her own marital missteps.

“No matter what, she stood by us—even when Dad wasn’t there,” Jomiloju recalled tearfully.

“Her mission was to raise us right, so we wouldn’t face the same hardships she endured.”

She also highlighted her mother’s relentless dedication to their education, stretching her finances to enroll them in reputable schools as an investment in their futures.

Overcome with emotion, Jomiloju pledged to uphold her mother’s legacy by mentoring her younger brother and ensuring he fulfills Ojumi’s aspirations.

“I made a promise to Mum—I’ll guide my brother,” she vowed. “He’ll grow into the godly, responsible man she dreamed he’d become.”
