Amid Nigeria’s deepening economic crisis, dishwasher-turned-musician Speed Darlington has launched a scathing critique against President Bola Tinubu’s bid for re-election.
The polarizing entertainer unleashed his fiery remarks in a viral Instagram clip that surfaced Wednesday, condemning what he called “failed leadership” under the current administration.
With trademark bluntness, Darlington ticked off aikon charges against Tinubu’s tenure: economic mismanagement, worsening security threats, and flawed policy decisions that have squeezed ordinary Nigerians. His rant crescendoed with a dire prediction should Tinubu secure another term.
“Four more years under this government would plunge Nigerians into perpetual torment,” Darlington declared. “Your first term has already revealed your incompetence—why should citizens endure another round of suffering?”
“Within weeks of taking office, you gutted fuel subsidies without contingency plans, knowing full well petroleum powers everything in Nigeria,” he continued. “Now greedy marketers hike prices daily while you campaign for re-election. Where’s the justification?”
“You’ve demonstrated zero capability to curb kidnappings or protect citizens. Farmers can’t access their lands, travelers fear highways—yet you want four more years? Nigerians deserve better than recycled failure,” Darlington concluded.
