Renowned Nollywood actor and director Daniel Etim-Effiong has shared that he seeks divine guidance before performing any on-screen kissing scenes.

He made this revelation in a candid conversation with Channels Television, emphasizing how his faith influences his professional choices.

Etim-Effiong noted that while intimate scenes are common in Nollywood due to audience preferences, he personally consults God before engaging in such roles.

He elaborated that filmmakers often incorporate romantic moments to captivate viewers, as they tend to boost engagement and viewership.

In his words: “Playing romantic characters frequently means I sometimes have kissing scenes. Some may see it as excessive, but the real question is for producers—why limit expressions of love to just one approach? Affection can be portrayed in countless ways. Every choice has its challenges, but staying focused keeps distractions at bay. I concentrate on my craft and deliver my best.

“My strength comes from God. I pray before stepping onto set, even for intimate scenes. My family grounds me, and my work fuels my passion.

“This journey feels like a divine assignment, which is why I left a lucrative engineering career for storytelling. It’s more than acting—it’s a ministry. Inspiring others through film is my way of worship.”
