Iranian authorities have faced backlash following the viral revelation of Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani’s daughter flouting the country’s stringent hijab laws at her wedding ceremony. Shamkhani, renowned for his uncompromising stance on the enforcement of hijab regulations, has been accused of hypocrisy alongside his daughter, Fatemeh Setayesh.

The widely circulated video captures Fatemeh adorned in a strapless dress with a deep neckline, complemented by a sheer veil that left her hair exposed. The event, held at Tehran’s opulent Espinas Palace Hotel, also showcased other women in attendance, including Shamkhani’s wife, in attire that blatantly disregarded the mandatory hijab rules.

Shamkhani, a trusted aide to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and former head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, has been a prominent figure in enforcing hijab mandates. His daughter’s open defiance of these rules has sparked widespread outrage, with many Iranians condemning the apparent double standards.

The incident has drawn sharp criticism from citizens, who point to the stark contrast between the strict regulations imposed on the general populace and the leniency afforded to the country’s elite. Critics argue that such hypocrisy undermines the credibility of the laws and fuels public discontent.
