Global football icon Cristiano Ronaldo and his long-time partner, Georgina Rodríguez, are preparing for a lavish Christian wedding on the picturesque island of Madeira, his birthplace, scheduled for summer 2027.
The power couple will exchange vows at the historic Funchal Cathedral, followed by an exclusive reception at a luxury resort, as reported by Madeiran media outlets.
After nearly a decade together, the duo announced their engagement last fall, marking a new chapter in their high-profile romance.
Ronaldo, now 41, recently shared intimate details about his spontaneous proposal, featuring a breathtaking £1.8 million diamond ring, during an interview with a renowned broadcaster.
“It happened unexpectedly late at night while our children were asleep,” Ronaldo recalled. “A close friend handed me the ring, and as I was presenting it to Georgina, our little ones walked in, excitedly asking if I was proposing.”
“That magical moment became the perfect opportunity,” he continued. “While I hadn’t planned it then, their innocent excitement made it feel absolutely right.”
The sports legend admitted the proposal wasn’t conventionally romantic: “I didn’t kneel—it was completely unscripted. But it felt genuine, with heartfelt words that came straight from my soul.”
“Romance comes naturally to me in my own way,” Ronaldo explained. “While I might not shower her with flowers daily, I express my love through meaningful gestures that truly matter.”
The couple shares two daughters, Alana and Bella, while Ronaldo also parents Cristiano Jr. (born in 2010) and twins Eva and Mateo (born via surrogate in 2017). Their love story began in 2016 when Ronaldo played for Real Madrid and Georgina worked at a Madrid boutique, quickly blossoming into one of football’s most enduring relationships.
