Ousmane Dembélé

Real Madrid shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois has revealed details of his post-match exchange with Ousmane Dembélé following Paris Saint-Germain’s commanding 4-0 victory over Los Blancos in the Club World Cup semi-final clash on Wednesday.

Dembélé got on the scoresheet as PSG outclassed Xabi Alonso’s squad at the MetLife Stadium. Fabian Ruiz and Gonçalo Ramos also contributed goals in Luis Enrique’s side’s emphatic triumph over the LaLiga heavyweights.

Reflecting on the encounter, Courtois highlighted Dembélé’s relentless work rate throughout the game.

“I spoke to Dembélé afterward and mentioned how much he presses,” Courtois stated (via Madrid Zone).

He added, “There was a clear contrast between our pressing game and theirs—we weren’t effective in that aspect.”

The goalkeeper conceded, “PSG’s high press completely overwhelmed us.”

PSG is set to take on Courtois’ former team, Chelsea, in the Club World Cup final this Sunday.
