Media personality Chioma Amaryllis Ahaghotu recently sparked a fiery debate by calling out the unrealistic expectations placed on women.

She argued that most men wouldn’t last a day handling the endless responsibilities women juggle daily—financial contributions, pregnancy, childcare, and household management combined.

Ahaghotu emphasized that men who demand this level of multitasking from women would refuse to swap roles, knowing full well the imbalance in effort and sacrifice.

Her powerful words read:

“The harsh reality? Countless men would crumble under the weight of the expectations they impose on women.

“Provide financially.

“Endure the physical and emotional toll of pregnancy—nine months of discomfort, health risks, and life-altering changes.

“Take charge of child-rearing, household duties, and the invisible mental load that never lets up.

“Stay loyal through exhaustion, neglect, and carrying the lion’s share of responsibilities.

“If offered the chance to step into a woman’s shoes for a year, most men would instantly decline. Why? Because they recognize the raw deal.

“There’s a glaring hypocrisy: society conditions women to accept an unfair standard while allowing men to reap the rewards.

“Men understand the imbalance—the relentless demands, disproportionate sacrifices, and minimal acknowledgment—yet uphold the status quo.

“Women are conditioned to endure; men are conditioned to benefit.

“The unspoken truth speaks volumes: if men wouldn’t willingly embrace the exhausting reality women face daily, it underscores the sheer resilience required.

“It also exposes a manufactured system—one that must be dismantled.”
