Nigerian comedian GehGeh has responded to growing backlash over his humorous takes on gender dynamics, particularly his recurring jokes about women.

The viral skitmaker faced intense scrutiny recently, with many social media users accusing him of fostering negativity toward women. He took to X to set the record straight.

GehGeh insisted his comedy should not be interpreted as genuine animosity or prejudice.

“Just because I joke about women doesn’t mean I dislike them, Nigerians,”
he tweeted. “If your girlfriend offers me something nice, I won’t say no.”

This comes after over 20,000 participants reportedly joined GehGeh’s digital discussion on financial management and relationship advice for men.

Despite the criticism, the comedy star maintains that his content is all about engaging with Nigerian audiences.

He clarified that his edgy humor comes from a place of satire rather than ill intent, calling it his unique way of contributing to society.

In a follow-up post, GehGeh added, “Nigerians, is it wrong to give back to the people? Should I stop because politicians aren’t doing better? I’m just serving my audience, and I won’t ever stop.”
