Popular Nigerian funnyman Ayo Makun, better known as AY, has stepped up to support music icon Innocent Idibia, aka 2Baba, after the singer publicly apologized to his partner, Natasha Osawaru.
This comes after the veteran artist stirred controversy by claiming men aren’t biologically inclined to remain sexually faithful to a single woman.
Amid the heated reactions, 2Baba shared a moving video seeking forgiveness from his new wife, Natasha Osawaru, his kids, and his fanbase.
Addressing the criticism, AY took to social media with a plea for understanding, asking the public to see the humanity behind male celebrities under scrutiny.
He portrayed 2Baba as a man under immense pressure who owned his mistakes—not because he’s flawless, but because he’s only human.
AY also highlighted how men are conditioned to suppress their feelings, only to be met with misunderstanding when they finally express themselves.
He wrote: “People are quick to condemn without mercy. Few bother to ask the simple, caring question: ‘How are you holding up?’ And even when they do, there’s usually a hidden motive. Genuine concern is rare.
“What I witnessed was a pressured man owning up to his missteps. Not out of perfection—but out of raw humanity. Society teaches men to endure silently. Right or wrong, we’re told to ‘toughen up.’ When we do speak our truth, it backfires. We’re scorned. Misinterpreted. Ignored.
“Showing weakness doesn’t shield us—it makes us targets. Only the caught face consequences.”
