Nigerian music sensation Davido has opened up about the heartfelt conversation he shared with his wife, Chioma Adeleke, following his recent Grammy disappointment.
The Afrobeats superstar graced the 66th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on February 1, accompanied by his wife and close family members.
Despite high expectations, the “Unavailable” crooner lost the Best African Music Performance category to South Africa’s rising star Tyla, marking another near-miss at music’s biggest night.
In a candid revelation, Davido shared how he initially wanted to skip the post-awards celebration after the loss. “I told my wife, ‘Baby, we lost again – let’s just go home,'” the artist confessed.
Chioma, however, responded with inspiring wisdom that changed his perspective. Posting glamorous photos from their evening on social media, Davido quoted his wife: “She told me, ‘True champions stay humble in victory and gracious in defeat.’ So we stayed and celebrated.”
